Origin of the Chapter's Title

The title 欲归道无因 (yù guī dào wú yīn) is the last line from the poem The Departed Are More Distant Daily (去者日以疏), the 14th poem from the Nineteen Old Poems, an anthology of poems collected in the Han Dynasty.


欲归道无因 can be translated as:

  • Yet desiring to return is no excuse.[1]
